TTL Picks
New York Islanders ML (+108) vs Boston Bruins (Puck Drop 6:00pm CST)
The Isles are rolling back into Boston as the 2nd place team in the Eastern Conference. The Bruins find themselves 4th place in the East, and are 8 points behind the Isles. New York should be favored in this matchup, as they’ve won all 5 matchups between these 2 teams this season. The Isles have won 5 out of their last 7 overall, and are coming off an OT victory against the Rangers on Sunday. The Isles are 7-1-1 SU on 2 day’s rest or more, 5-1-1 SU after a win over that same rest period, and are 4-0 SU in their last 4 playing on 3 day’s rest or more. Boston is coming off their own 3-2 victory over the Sabres on Tuesday, but they are only 2-8 SU at home after a loss on the season. The Bruins have shown their weaknesses against the Islanders defense all season long, and that won’t stop here this evening. Look for the Islanders to come out hot right from 1st puck drop, and get yet another victory over the Bruins this season. TTL Pick: New York Islanders ML (+108)
Boston Celtics -6 vs LA Lakers (Tip 9:00pm CST)
The Boston Celtics roll into this game as one of the hotter teams in the Eastern Conference. After a head scratching and disappointing first two-thirds of the NBA season, the Celtics are finally playing their best basketball. Boston is 4-0 ATS over their last four road games versus a team with a winning home record, and they are 5-0 ATS over their last five road games. Against the spread, the Celtics have controlled this matchup, covering in each of the last four between these two. They travel to face a Lakers team who are 1-4 ATS over their last 5 following a SU win. LA does not have the personnel to slow down Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown tonight. In the first matchup of the season, the Lakers with AD and Lebron took a one point victory, but allowed a combined 58 points to Brown and Tatum. Without the Lakers starts, Tatuma and Brown should have similar success. TTL Pick: Boston Celtics -6
Special Play Of The Day: Triple Play Thursday Parlay
Philadelphia Phillies +1.5 vs NY Mets (First Pitch 11:10am CST)
Well kids, we all know the stories and narratives. Despite Jacob deGrom’s dominance, the New York Mets become clueless offensively whenever their ace takes the mound. The Mets are 0-4 in deGrom’s last 4 starts as a favorite, and I promise the bullshit goes far deeper than four games. For today’s parlay we decided we’ll take advantage of this debauchery, but with a nice insurance run. Even in deGrom’s starts that end in a Mets win, they tend to be very tight games. Give us the Phillies to lock down the Mets offense to kick off the day.
Arizona Diamondbacks vs Washington Nationals Over 8.5 (First Pitch 6:05pm CST)
This matchup features 2 pitchers who have yet to find their grooves on the year, and are each catching the opposing team as their bats are starting to heat up. Patrick Corbin is on the bump for the Nationals and in 1 outing this year he threw 80 pitches in 4.1 innings with 5 K, 3 BB, 6 H, and 6 ER. Taking the hill for the Dbacks, Merrill Kelly, has thrown 184 pitches over 10 innings in 2 outingtings this year with 5 K, 3 BB, 14 H, and 9 ER. The Dbacks have scored 30 runs over their last 5 games, and the Nats scoring 19 runs over their last 5 with the bulk of those runs coming from their last 3 games. The Nationals bats are finally starting to wake up, and they should continue to find success against Kelly. The Dbacks will do plenty of scoring of their own this evening going against the lefty Corbin. The Dbacks are hitting a .275 average, are averaging a .348 OBP, and are averaging 6.87 R/9 all against left handed pitchers this season. The over should cash with ease, in a game that should be fireworks from the start.
Detroit Tigers vs Oakland A’s ML (-164) (First Pitch 8:40pm CST)
To close out the parlay, we’re heading over to the west coast for the Tigers vs A’s matchup. Both teams will start a left handed pitcher, and possibly the biggest split in this game that we love is that the Tigers have struggled against lefties, while the A’s have found success in that category. Tarik Skubal will take the mound for Detroit, and in his last four starts on the road, the Tigers have lost all four games. Additionally, Oakland has been a house of horrors for Detroit, losing seven of their last eight games in Oakland, to go along with a 5-21 record over the last 26 games regardless of location. The trend continues tonight, and the A’s pound Detroit.
Triple Play Thursday Parlay: Phillies +1.5, ARI/WASH Over 8.5, A’s ML = Odds +487
RMag’s Sidebar
As the season moves along, more and more light continues to shine on Minnesota Timberwolves rookie, Anthony Edwards. The high flying rookie of the year candidate isn’t just turning heads on the court, though he is averaging 18ppg, Edwards is gaining some spotlight with his candid press interviews and postgame interviews. Earlier this week, news came out that a group led by Alex Rodriguez purchased the Timberwolves, and when asked about the changes, Edwards claimed he had no idea who A-Rod was. The young man has charisma for days and seems poised to grace the league with his presence for years to come.

Colt’s Inspiration Corner
“Adversity Is Your Friend”
A few Corner’s back, I shared a “Thought Provoking Quote” edition, and the overarching topic of the quotes was adversity. You probably didn’t notice if you read it, but one of the quotes was actually my own original thought. My quote is: “Adversity can become your best friend, when you realize that it’s only there to help you learn & grow.” For today’s Corner, I wanted to share some additional perspective on that quote and give you some keys to overcoming adversity in your life. We all face adversity every single day, whether it be big or small, and we all have the power to overcome it right inside of us.
I can promise you that every moment of adversity is an opportunity for you to “level up” and become a completely new version of yourself. You can never escape adversity in this life, so you have a choice to make. Option 1: You can cower in fear, let your adversity tear you down, complain how you can never catch a break, and stay right where you are in life. Option 2: Conquer with faith, face your adversity with confidence, keep striving for success even when you fail, and utilize your adversity as a stepping stone to become a version of you that you never dreamed of. What option will you choose to utilize for the adversity that you face in your life?
Leonardo DiCaprio once said: “Every next level of your life will demand a different you.” Adversity is in your life to help you find that “different you”, and that’s why we feel so much pressure from it. We feel the demand to become a new version of ourselves and to reach new levels, but often lack the faith to just simply try. You have the power to make your adversity work in your advantage, and that power is your mind. It takes this perspective to conquer all the adversity that you face in your life. You have to believe that every adversity is there to help you, and not to hurt you. You may not understand why you’re facing it now, but I promise the answer to your adversity will soon be revealed and you will be blown away when it is.
Daily Challenge: Today’s phrase of the day is, “I Will Make Adversity My Friend”. Choose to learn & grow from your adversity. Don’t ignore the problems that you’re facing, and wither into a lesser version of yourself. Get your head up, pull your shoulders back, and operate with the perspective that every new adversity is simply a new opportunity. Remember that as long as you keep the perspective that the adversity you are currently facing is there to assist you, eventually you will find the answer and you will become that “different you”. It may not be right this second, or even in 100,000 seconds, but I promise it will all work out in your favor. You simply have to get up every day, and make the choice to allow your adversity to teach you. Stop fighting it; it’s not there to hurt you. It’s only there to give you a helping hand. Have a spectacular Thursday my friend.
